The ink’s still drying…Max Sheaf becomes the latest Pitman

Just when you thought business was done for the week, we’ve added another exciting name to the Pitmen ranks – welcoming Max Sheaf to Keys Park.

A former Hull City attacking midfielder, Max made his Championship debut with the Tigers before going on to play for Cheltenham Town, Gloucester City and Gateshead, bringing creativity and energy to the middle of the park.

Known for his technical ability, composure and attacking instinct, the 25-year-old adds real drive between midfield and the forward line. Having played against the Pitmen while at Redditch United, Max was already familiar with the club and impressed by its ambition and direction.

“I’ve known about Hednesford for a while and got wind of the club’s aspirations – they match where I want to go,” said Max. “This isn’t just about building a squad; it’s about building a culture. That’s something I really buy into. I’m hungry to push back up the leagues, and this feels like the right place to do that.”

Manager Gavin Hurren said: “We’ve been working hard to get this deal over the line today, and I’m really pleased to bring Max in. He’s technically excellent, intelligent in possession and has that confidence to dictate play from midfield. He fits perfectly with the culture we’re building here – he’ll bring control, creativity and a real presence to our attacking play.”

Welcome to Keys Park, Max.
