Hednesford Town are delighted to announce the signing of Sam Hornby from Walsall.
The goalkeeper joins the club with a huge amount of EFL experience, having played for Burton, Port Vale, Bradford City and Colchester prior to joining The Saddlers.
Sam becomes our third summer signing after the arrivals of Jamie Cooke and Dylan Mottley-Henry.
Talking to the club after signing, Sam said:
“I’m delighted, it’s nice to get it sorted.
“We’ve been back and fourth for a week or so, so it’s great to be here now.
“The ambition of the football club matches my drive and where I want to go now in my career.
“I’ve spoken to the Chairman, I’ve been around the ground, I’ve seen everything here from when I was here as a 16-year-old boy to now at 31.
“It’s a really exciting time and a really exciting opportunity to come to this football club.”
Director of Football, Andrew reed added:
“I’m really pleased to bring Sam to the football club, he is someone we’ve tracked for some time and we’re very happy to get the deal done.
“His experience, professionalism and leadership qualities will be invaluable both on and off the pitch.
“He will also undoubtedly help Xander (Parke) become stronger, he shares our ambition for where we want to take this football club, and we’re excited to welcome him to Keys Park.”
