THE PITMEN

Hednesford extended their lead at the top of the NPL Premier on Saturday after the 1-0 win at Ashton United, Akheem Rose getting the only goal of the game. The Pitmen also extended their winning streak to seven games in league and cup, scoring 16 goals and conceding just two.

THE OPPOSITION

Tividale are members of the Capelli Sport Midland League Premier Division and currently sit in 12th place with 16 points from 16 games from four wins, four draws and eight defeats, scoring 21 goals but conceding 34. On Saturday they played out a 2-2 draw with Romulus thanks to two goals from skipper Brad Maslen-Jones.

THE MANAGEMENT

Assistant Manager Lee Vaughan was pleased with Saturday’s performance and result and said about Tuesday’s game “We’ll look to mix it up again with some of the scholars in the squad. They looked good at Bilston, and we want to give them a pathway within the club”.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS

The two clubs met in the Walsall Senior Cup in the 2023/24 season at Tividale’s Beeches ground in a game that saw a 6-3 win for Hednesford. Michael Williams and Joe Thompson grabbed two goals each with the others coming from Callam Mendez-Jones and Joe Morley while Jack Till notched a hattrick for the home side. Back in their West Midlands League days Hednesford and Tividale were regular opponents, playing each other some 21 times between 1975 and 1984, The Pitmen winning 12, the ‘Dale five with four draws.

The winners of the game on 2nd December, will be at home to Burton Albion in the next round.

MATCHDAY DETAILS

Reduced admission on Tuesday is £6 adults, £4 concessions and £1 U16s. Tickets are available on the night from the ticket office or online via the Fanbase app. The matchday programme will be on sale, cash payment from the programme sellers/stewards or by card in the club shop.
