THE HOME SIDE
The Wire sit in eighth place in the table with 29 points from 20 games, 14 points below Hednesford. 21 of those points have been picked up at home from six wins, three draws and just one defeat. They have beaten Ilkeston 1-0, Guiseley 2-0, FC United 3-0, Lancaster 3-2, Ashton 2-1 and Stockton 2-0 while the three draws have all been goalless against Cleethorpes, Rushall Olympic and Morpeth. The only defeat was a 0-3 reversal against Gainsborough Trinity. Warrington’s leading scorer is… Niall Watson who has five league goals and two in the Cheshire Senior Cup while Reece Daly has five in the league and one in the County Cup while Max Thompson has four league goals.
THE PITMEN
Hednesford maintained their three point lead at the top of the NPL Premier League table with a 3-0 win at Ilkeston, a game which saw a goalscoring return for Niall Watson, a first Pitmen goal for Man of the Match Max Sheaf and a 13th goal of the season for Akheem Rose. Second placed Hebburn kept up the pressure thanks to an injury time winner against Morpeth while third placed Warrington Rylands beat fifth placed Lancaster City. FC United are in fourth place and playing catch up as they were in FA Trophy action on Saturday before their home game against Stockton was called off on Tuesday due to a waterlogged pitch. Dom McHale will be available after sitting out a one game ban.

In the current form table Hednesford are in second place with 16 points from their last six league games and a GD of +9 while Warrington are a place below in third with 11 points from six games and a GD of +4.

Manager Gavin Hurren was pleased with last Saturday’s win at Ilkeston Town and said after the game: “That was our best performance of the season, Niall Watson and Max Sheaf were both outstanding”. Moving on to the Warrington game he added: “We’ve had Warrington watched today (Saturday 13th) and it’ll be another tough game”.
PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS
In recent Northern Premier League times Hednesford have visited Cantilever Park on three occasions and have tasted defeat on all three. In 2016/17 The Pitmen lost by the only goal of the game and in the following season went down 1-4, Danny Glover scoring. 2018/19 saw a 1-3 reversal despite a goal from Shane Benjamin.
MATCHDAY DETAILS
The Cal.Delivery Stadium has a capacity of 2,500 with four stands, two of which are seated. The club’s average attendance so far this season is 723 and the team’s home kit is yellow shirts and blue shorts.
This fixture is not segregated. Any team coach/supporters coaches will drop off outside the ground and will then be directed to an area away from the ground by the stewards as spaces are extremely limited in the main carpark. Admission will be £15 adults, £10 concessions, £3 U16s at the turnstiles, cash only with concessions being over 65 and full time students with relative ID.
