THE PITMEN
After losing both of their opening games, 2-0 at Merthyr and 4-3 at home to Scarborough Athletic, Hednesford will be looking to get their first points of the season on the board.
After going behind to an early goal on Saturday, Hednesford went 3-1 up against Scarborough thanks to two penalties from Omari Sterling-James and a Jamie Cooke header.
However, the visitors won the game in added on time after David Abimbola had a goal controversially disallowed for The Pitmen.
THE OPPOSITION
Southport have one point from their opening two games following a 3-1 opening day defeat at Hebburn Town and a 1-1 draw at home to Buxton.
The Sandgrounders took the lead in the 17th minute against Buxton when Malakai McKenzie’s cross looped over the visitor’s keeper and into the net.
However, they saw two points slip away when Kieran Burton equalised in stoppage time. The result has left Southport in 17th place in the league table.
PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS
The two clubs have met at Step 1 on several occasions over the years.
In six visits to Keys Park, Southport have won three times in 1996/97, 1999/2000 and 2000/01.
Meanwhile, Hednesford also have three victories, 2-1 in 1995/96 when Steve Burr and Steve Devine scored, 2-1 in 1997/98 with goals from Gary Fitzptrick and a Paul Carty penalty and 3-1 in 1998/99, Jake Sedgemore (penalty), Joe O’Connor and Jed Kimmins on the scoresheet.
Southport also tasted defeat in The Pitmen’s record FA Cup run in 1996/97, losing 2-1 in the First Round, Keith Russell and Joe O’Connor scoring.

Admission prices for league games this season at Keys Park are as follows:
Seating: £18 adults, £15 concessions, £8 13-17 years old, £5 under 13s.
Standing: £15 adults, £12 concessions, £5 13-17 years old, £3 under 13s.
Match programmes will be available for £3.
All juniors aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Turnstiles, Club Shop, Ticket Office and the Chase Suite open at 6pm.
Smoking and vaping is only allowed in the Fanzones behind the Hednesford End and Heath Hayes End.
As this is not a designated game, all Boltbars will be open as usual.
Remember that due to building work there is no parking at Keys Park so please park responsibly elsewhere.
