The Pitmen found themselves in Senior Cup action for the first time this season, with a short away trip in the Walsall Senior Cup.
It was the home side who had the first opportunity of the game as they earned themselves a corner in the opening minute. It ultimately led to a quick counter attack from the Pitmen and was very much an indication of how the game would play out.
Jacob Gwilt flashed a shot wide a minute later before Zidan Sutherland set up Alamu-Tajudeen, with the
midfielder seeing his snap shot saved by the Casuals ‘keeper.
The Pitmen pressure told after ten minutes when Omar Holness tapped into an empty net after good work by Rob Stevenson.
It was 2-0 after 21 minutes. A Sutherland shot looped up off a Casuals defender and onto the bar, but Stevenson was alert enough to follow it up and score.
Ryan Brown was called into action five minutes before the break, getting down well to keep out a rare Casuals attack.
Holness scored an almost mirror image of his first goal, this time following good work by Sutherland down the left.

Thirteen minutes into the second half Alamu-Tajudeen opened his account with a well taken half volley.
Holness completed his hattrick with a well placed freekick, from just outside the box, that found the bottom corner.
With an eye on the weekend, Steve King shuffled the pack by making use of all five subs. As is often the case the game petered out as a result as players worked their way into the game. But by then, the job was already well and truly done for the Pitmen.
