The Pitmen faced second from bottom City of Liverpool at Keys Park looking for three points to propel them up the league table.
Dom McHale had already hit the side netting in the opening minute, before the Pitmen were awarded a 7th minute penalty. Jack Bearne crossed the ball into the area for Dan Trickett-Smith who was clumsily felled by a City of Liverpool defender. McHale stepped up to dispatch the spot kick into the bottom corner of the net to give the Pitmen an early lead. City of Liverpool had a couple of half chances to get back into the game, forcing Jack Rose into punching clear two corners, before they fired over the bar following a good move. The Pitmen doubled their lead in the 21st minute when McHale played a ball that split the Liverpool midfield and defence in two, allowing Manny Duku to run through and beat Adam Khan with a deflected shot.

The Pitmen increased their lead early in the second half when McHale put in an inviting cross for Dan Trickett-Smith who took no hesitation in smashing the ball into the net in the 48th minute. The second half continued in the same vein as the first with Liverpool having plenty of possession and winning lots of corners without producing much in the way of danger. Jack Rose in goal for Pitmen was forced into a great save, tipping over a dangerous freekick from the edge of the area. Trickett-Smith put the icing on the cake for Hednesford in the 85th minute when he found himself in a one on one with Khan, lifting the ball over the keeper to give the Pitmen a resounding win.
