THE PITMEN
Despite only winning two of their last eight league matches, Hednesford still find themselves in second place in the NPL Premier League table after Saturday’s home draw against Whitby, their fifth stalemate in that time. This means that The Pitmen are only behind Hebburn on goal difference and two points ahead of third placed FC United who were the only team in the top seven to register a win on Saturday, the other six all drawing. The shut out on Saturday was Hednesford’s 13th clean sheet in the league this season while it was only the sixth league game where they hadn’t found the net. Jermaine Hylton made his comeback against Whitby as a second half substitute after getting injured at Ashton back in November.
THE OPPOSITION
After suffering defeat in their first three league games Hebburn have improved as the season has progressed. The defeat at Stockton on Boxing Day halted their run of nine straight league wins which had catapulted them up the league. Since then they have continued their rich vein of form with another three wins and a draw at Warrington Rylands on Saturday. From 27 games they have picked up 53 points and are the leagues leading scorers with 53 goals, 18 of which have come from Gary Martin. At home they have gained 30 points with 23 coming on their travels from wins at Whitby, Stocksbridge Park Steels, Prescot Cables, Gainsborough Trinity, Rushall Olympic, Hyde and Workington and 1-1 draws at Morpeth and Warrington Rylands. Defeats have come at Guiseley (0-4), Lancaster (2-3), FC United (0-1), Ashton (0-2) and Stockton (1-4).
THE GAFFER
In the build up to the game Manager Gavin Hurren said: “We beat Hebburn at their place earlier in the season so we know they will be ready and determined. They are a strong well drilled side and will see this as an opportunity”.

From their last six games Hednesford have nine points and a GD of +1 while Hebburn have 13 points and a GD of +2.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS
The two clubs have only met once before, at the start of this season when Dom McHale’s second half goal was enough to inflict what is Hebburn’s only home defeat of the season. The attendance was 397.

There will be as usual parking available at the Sunflex site at a cost of £5, all proceeds going to charity.
Admission will be £13 adults, £10 concessions/17-18 and disabled (non-wheelchair access), £5 U16 and free for U10s but all U16s unless season ticket holders or Junior Pitmen members must be accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets can be bought in advance via the Fanbase app on by cash/card on the day from the ticket office. Tickets from the original postponed fixture remain valid.
The multi-award winning matchday programme will be on sale, cash payments to the programme sellers or by card from the club shop and will feature among the usual articles, a look at the musical heritage of Hebburn.
