THE PITMEN
Following last season’s promotion to step 2 and the transition to full time football, Hednesford’s squad has been overhauled in the close season with 19 players leaving, 10 staying with the club and 13 new signings coming through the door.
The new boys are goalkeeper Sam Hornby from Walsall, defenders Aaron Harper-Bailey (Oxford City), George Langston (Braintree), Lenni Cirino (Gillingham), Aaron Hayden (Carlisle), Niall Maher (Eastleigh) along with midfielders Sonny Sharples (Bolton Wanderers), Dale Gorman (Woking), Jai Curren-Nicholls (Salford City), Jamie Cookke (Halifax) and forwards Dylan Mottley-Henry (Chester), Aaron Jarvis (Yeovil) and Jay Fitzmartin (FC United).
THE OPPOSITION
After finishing 10th in last season’s NPL Division One West last season with 60 points from 42 games, some 15 points away from the play-offs, new Chasetown manager Carl Dickenson has overseen a revamp in his playing squad with nine players remaining from 2025/26.
They are joined by new signings Leo Latter (Rhyl), Kevin Monteiro (Shifnal), Matt Funge (Dudley), Kyle Mosely (Solihull Moors), Logan Cousins (Port Vale), Dan Bradley (Lichfield City and ex Pitman Ethan Patterson from Alvechurch. Other former Hednesford players in the home squad will be Nathan Cameron, Tom Thorley, George Cater and Bradley Clarkson.
FORM
While this is Hednesford’s first pre-season outing, Chasetown have already played two friendlies, a 0-1 defeat at Redditch United and a 1-2 home reversal to Bedworth United, Jack Langston scoring.
PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS
Since 1983/84 the two clubs have met on 11 occasions in various competitions with Hednesford winning four, Chasetown three and four draws.
MATCHDAY DETAILS
Admission on Saturday is £8 adults, £5 concessions and under 10s are free with a paying adult.
Anyone 16 or under will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
There are no advance tickets, simply pay at the turnstiles on the day, both cash or card are acceptable.
