Hednesford Town Women are delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Stoneley as the team’s new General Manager, marking another significant step forward in the continued development of the women’s programme.
Already a valued member of the football club as the Men’s First Team Goalkeeping Coach, Liam’s appointment further strengthens the connection between the men’s and women’s sections, reinforcing Hednesford Town’s vision of operating as One Club.
Liam joins an already growing number of senior men’s staff who are supporting the women’s programme this season.
He will work alongside Men’s First Team Coach Jared Hodgkiss, who continues in his role as Head Coach/Assistant Manager with Hednesford Town Women, and Head of Analysis Sean O’Callaghan, whose expertise has become an integral part of the team’s performance programme.
Together, these appointments demonstrate the club’s commitment to sharing knowledge, experience and resources across both the men’s and women’s sections to create the best possible environment for success.
As Hednesford Town Women continue to grow both on and off the pitch, the introduction of a General Manager reflects the club’s ambition to build the right structure to support long-term success.
Liam will work closely with the coaching staff, players and club leadership to oversee the day-to-day running of the women’s programme.
His role will include supporting football operations, improving communication across departments, enhancing player welfare and matchday operations, assisting with recruitment and helping to ensure the team continues to benefit from the wider expertise available throughout Hednesford Town Football Club.
The appointment will also allow the coaching staff to place even greater focus on player development, coaching and performance, knowing that the operational side of the programme is being driven to the same high standards.
Manager Laura Hodgkiss said:
“This is another really positive step for us as a team. Liam is someone who understands exactly what Hednesford Town is about, and bringing him into the women’s programme is another sign of the club’s commitment to continuing our development.
“What excites me most is that this isn’t a standalone appointment. Liam joins Jared and Sean as part of a fantastic group of staff who work across both the men’s and women’s programmes.
“Having that level of experience and collaboration around the team raises standards every single day and creates a genuine One Club environment.
“We’re building something that is sustainable, ambitious and professional. Every decision we’re making is with the aim of giving our players the very best environment to develop and succeed, and Liam’s appointment is another important step in that journey.
“Everyone at Hednesford Town Football Club would like to congratulate Liam on his appointment and wish him every success in his new role as we continue building an exciting future for Hednesford Town Women.”
