Hednesford Town Ladies secured a huge three points at Keys Park on Sunday with a hard-fought 1–0 victory against title contenders Redditch Borough.
Coming into the game, we had a clear plan – and full credit to the girls, they stuck to it from the first whistle to the last. We knew there would be moments where we would have to suffer, and that resilience proved key to our success.
Every single player battled and fought for each other. We were aggressive, matched Redditch’s physicality across the pitch, and showed real togetherness throughout. At the same time, we still managed to put together some very good spells of football, showing composure when we had the opportunity to play.
The decisive moment came in the 85th minute. A well-timed long ball over the top from Holly sparked the counter, and Maisy Sinclair showed tremendous pace to get on the end of it. She took the ball early, catching the keeper off guard, and calmly slotted it home to send Keys Park into celebration.
From there, the game management was excellent. The girls saw the match out brilliantly, staying disciplined and composed to secure a deserved clean sheet and another important win.
We’re delighted to keep the momentum going as we now look ahead to Port Vale away next week.
A special thank you as well to the 148 fans who came out to support us. That’s a fantastic attendance and such a positive sign for the club and the team – your backing makes a real difference, and we truly appreciate it.
